ARSENAL
VS LIVERPOOL ANALYSIS
·
Arsenal has won 23 of their last 25 home
matches against Liverpool.
·
Liverpool have scored less than 2.5 goals in their last
five matches.
·
Liverpool have won 13 of their last 14 games
against Arsenal.
As things stand, two positions and
four points separate the two struggling sides in the table, with Liverpool
currently in seventh position and Arsenal languishing in ninth ahead of their
30th league match of the season. Liverpool’s Roberto Firmino returned to
training in the middle of the week and may be available for selection on Saturday
against Arsenal.
Arsenal have gone unbeaten in their
last four Premier League games, winning against Leicester City and Tottenham
Hotspur. Arteta's side has lost just one of their last eight top-flight
matches at the Emirates, being the 1-0 loss to Manchester City on
February 21.
Liverpool has only won two of their last
eight Premier League matches, losing the other six, and surprisingly, only one
team has scored in Liverpool's last seven matches since Leicester City defeated
them 3-1 on February 13. With all five of Liverpool's most recent top-flight
victories coming on the road, the Reds could tie a 65-year-old club record if
they win at the Emirates this weekend, as their six victories between February
and August 1955 all came on rival turf.
